5 March 2026

On Thursday 5th March, Hawk Class travelled on the Park and Ride bus to Bath City Centre for our school trip. We turned heads as we walked through town as it was World Book Day and the pupils had dressed up as characters from their favourite books!  We had a lot of Bunnies (Bunny vs Monkey) as well as a Pippi Longstocking, a Mary Poppins, a Hiccup (How to Train Your Dragon) and a Bear Grylss to name but a few. Our first stop was the Holburne Museum for a textile print making workshop based on the work of Zandra Rhodes.  The children visited her exhibition - and another part of the museum too - for inspiration, and then designed and printed their own repeating patterns on to fabric. The quality and diversity of their completed designs was impressive.  After a picnic lunch on the museum lawn and a play in the Sydney Gardens playground, we headed to Bath Central Library.  Here we were given a tour and some book-related activities to complete before everyone was given the opportunity to browse the fabulous childrens' book section and borrow a book.   We were blessed with yet more sunshine on our journey back to school and arrived back with a remarkable step count after so much walking! Thank you to the children for the enthusiasm and good behaviour they displayed and to the adults who gave up their time to help the day run smoothly.
