Cup Match 10^th October

St John's 1-6 St Philip's 

An early evening kick-off under balmy October skies saw the cup holders, St Philip's, defeat a St John's side with little difficulty. Full of energy and enthusiasm, the away team played neat and tidy football, showed great determination in defence and cheered each other on to the end.

Ernest set the tone with a net toe-poked finish which eluded the St John's goalkeeper. Euan prodded home a second and after his shot was saved, Zach turned in to make the half time score 3-0. St John's had a few chances, but the second half continued in the pattern of the first. Zach's deflected shot made it 4, and after a consolation goal from St John's there was even time for two more St Philip's goals, the pick of the bunch being a well worked move between Zach and Euan which was rounded off by Andrei. 

It was a most satisfying team performance, with special note going to Oscar who was imperious in defence. 

St Philip's now await the news of their next opponent.
