Victory vs Oldfield Park
Back
On Tuesday evening the sun shone as St Philip's took its football team to Oldfield Park for what now is an annual friendly. Within minutes St Philip's took the lead: some good work on the left from Izzy and when the ball was crossed low from the left, Otto was left free to guide the ball into an empty net.
More good play was to follow, though no more goals were scored in the match, thanks largely to the astute and steady defending of Mason and keen instincts from Rayyan, goalkeeper for the day, who did not put a foot wrong.
Another moment of note was Otto's penalty appeal, when it appeared he was taken out by the opposing goalkeeper, but no penalty was given. Thankfully St Philip's held on, securing a 1-0 victory. Well done to all who played.
