Cooking in Owl Class

Yesterday, Owl Class were extremely busy all morning with this term's DT Project. After looking at the importance of eating seasonal and nutritious meals, we made spinach and cheese bread and minestrone soup.
The morning involved learning and practicing many new skills, including weighing out ingredients, chopping them up safely and efficiently, and kneading bread dough in order to develop the gluten. The class seemed to really enjoy the whole process and were very happy when they got to try everything they made. Perhaps they will start cooking more at home too...
