All we ask you to do is complete a registration form and we will inform you of a place as soon as your child approaches the pre-school age. WE ENDEAVOUR NEVER TO TURN ANYONE AWAY! EQUAL OPPORTUNITIESWe believe that no child, individual or family should be excluded from the pre-schools activities on the grounds of age, gender, sexuality, class, family status, means, disability, colour, ethnic origin, culture, religion or beliefs. PARENTAL INVOLVEMENTWe are a community run pre-school and it is the committee who act as employers of the staff. Parents are elected on to the committee to support staff and help with fundraising activities. To ensure a ratio of one adult to six children, every parent is expected to help, twice, every half term. This is an ideal opportunity to take an active role in your child's education. POLICIESChild Protection, Special Needs, Admissions, Selecting Equipment, Behaviour, Complaints, Safety, Staffing and Employment, Parental Involvement , Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality, Settling in, Health and Hygiene All our policies are designed to offer the best possible experience for children and families in the group and can be found on our main notice board. They are reviewed on a regular basis and comments and suggestions, from parents, are always welcome. During the morning we have a mix of child and adult led activities to promote their learning in the six areas listed above. We have a time of physical activity everyday which can involve music, bats and balls, parachute, assault course. This can take place outside (weather permitting) or inside. Mid session we have a break, milk or water is provided and the children bring their own snack. At the end of the morning we have a story telling and singing session. SETTLING INSettling in takes longer for some than others. So that your child feels confident and secure in the group, you are welcome to come along to a session before they start and then stay with them for a couple of sessions. After this, if your child isn't ready to be left for the whole session, we suggest you leave them for brief periods to start with, gradually building up to longer absences.
